Backflow Preventer Service

Backflow Preventer Service in Clarksville, TN

One of the most effective ways to protect your drinking water is to prevent contaminants from being pulled back into the public water supply.  This can happen when pressure in the system changes and water flow is reversed. This could happen when the water company turns off the water to repair a pipe, when the fire department uses water from a hydrant to fight a fire, or with an irrigation system that is connected to the same water supply as your drinking water.

A backflow preventer is a device that stops water flowing through a pipe from changing direction.  Emerson Plumbing has experienced technicians ready to install these devices. Most modern plumbing devices have a built-in backflow preventer, but some may need to be replaced every few years.

Backflow Preventer Testing

You should have a backflow preventer installed if you have an irrigation / sprinkler system where your water comes from your potable drinking source. If your water source for your irrigation system is not potable (safe for drinking) then you are not required to have a backflow preventer.

You may also need backflow preventers installed if your home is older and backflow preventers are not already part of your plumbing system.

If you have a backflow preventer you must have it tested annually by a certified technician.  Emerson Plumbing has certified technicians who can properly test your backflow preventer.
